As an important public health hospital, the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital is the “hospital of hope” for patients who face complex diagnoses and extremely difficult life circumstances. While the hospital delivers a high quality of medical and psychiatric care, its ability to offer additional services for this patient population that needs so much is limited by the constraints of state funding. This is where Shattuck Partners steps in, providing or funding supplemental programs for patients including vocational rehabilitation programs, recreational activities and supplies, arts programming, therapeutic items and personal necessities.
Shattuck Partners collaborates with hospital staff to identify high-priority patient-focused needs the hospital is unable to meet and raises the funds to meet those needs. Hospital staff who are considering a program to benefit patients but cannot acquire the funding from existing hospital budgets must first submit an application to Shattuck Partners outlining the program details and funding requirements. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis by Shattuck Partners’ Board of Directors. An application can be downloaded here: Application for Funding
